Answers before you switch roasters or launch.
A direct guide to fit, minimums, packaging, inclusions, low-acid roast development, fulfillment, certifications, samples, profile matching, and transition planning.
Short answer
We are best for brands with real inventory plans, repeat demand, and a need for consistent organic coffee production. New brands are welcome when the launch plan is practical.
Frequently asked
Common questions, answered.
What coffee do you source?
We source 100% Organic Grade 1 Arabica from Chiapas, Mexico; Guatemala; Honduras; Nicaragua; and Colombia. These coffees can be roasted to your preferred profile, from light to dark.
What are your MOQs?
Our starting private-label MOQ is 144 units per flavor or SKU, which equals 8 cases. Final minimums can vary by format, labels or print, inclusions, testing, and fulfillment needs.
Do you work with new brands?
Yes. We welcome new brands when they are ready to build thoughtfully around inventory, packaging, margin, and repeat production. Established brands switching roasters are also a strong fit.
Can you help replace an existing roaster?
Yes. Share current coffee, roast goals, packaging, quality issues, timeline, volume, and fulfillment requirements so we can map samples, approval, first production, and reorder timing.
Can you support low-acid coffee?
Yes. We specialize in traditional and low-acid 100% organic Arabica coffees, with roast process controls and documentation review available when your program requires support for low-acid positioning.
Do you offer testing documentation?
For qualified private-label and wholesale programs, we can review available mold, mycotoxin, lot, packaging, organic, Kosher, and low-acid documentation needs before quoting.
Can you add mushrooms, spices, or other inclusions?
Yes. Sonoma Roasters has specialty mixers for inclusion programs such as mushrooms, spices, and functional ingredients. We review ingredient specs, target dose, handling needs, label copy, claims, and production fit before quoting.
Can you use our existing packaging?
Often, yes. We review bag style, valve, label, case pack, UPC/FNSKU needs, carton requirements, and channel requirements before production.
Do you offer dropshipping?
No. We do not offer dropshipping. For inventory-based programs, we can ship finished inventory to Amazon FBA or to your preferred facility.
What is the best next step?
If you are replacing a roaster or have defined volume, send production details first. If you are still evaluating our cup style, order 12 oz sample roasts and use those profiles as a reference point for your private-label program. Either way, you can also request a production fit review and we will respond within one business day.
Which sample roasts should I try?
Sunrise and Espresso are Guatemala profiles, Reserve is Colombia, French Roast is Nicaragua, and Decaf is Chiapas, Mexico. You can order samples at sonomaroasters.com/collections/coffees.
